PE UD is made from UHMWPE fibers as raw materials, combined with specially formulated base materials. Using a specific process, 2-12 layers of unidirectional fiber flakes are arranged orthogonally at 90° angles, and then compounded with a resin matrix. The finished product appears white.
Aramid UD has high tensile strength and modulus, with a tensile strength up to 8 times that of steel on a weight-for-weight basis. Due to its unique properties, it is currently one of the best ballistic materials in the world. Aramid UD sheets utilize special UD technology to align parallel fibers in each layer.
